Eating healthier can be incorporated in three simple steps, here’s how.
Tip #1: Eliminate Access
Eliminating immediate access to unhealthy foods such as candy, ice cream, and other sugar additive foods is the first step towards a healthier lifestyle. The best way to reduce temptation is to remove the opportunity. Once you’ve removed the opportunity, you’ve created a natural barrier to unhealthy eating.
Tip #2: Moderation
In the event that you can’t controI the environment I recommend moderation. It’s ok to have some Peanut M&M’s at the movie theater, but share it with who you are with.
Tip #3: Choosing the next best alternative
I believe in the power of choosing the next best alternative. Imagine you’re at home craving ice cream, instead of walking downstairs opening up the freezer pulling out the Tillamook Cookies n Cream Ice Cream, grab a greek yogurt & throw a few berries in it.
Starting is simple, but it’s not easy. So employ the three steps I’ve identified: control your environment, remind yourself of moderation, and choose the next best alternative. Once you pair these steps with social accountability you’ll understand the Pareto Principle: 80% of your results come from 20% of your efforts.
